Fix broken WSUS caused by KB3159706

Today I had an issue with a broken WSUS console.

Error message

After some research I found this article about possible KBs might break the WSUS installation. I found KB3159706 in my installed updates.

The solution was to reconfigure the wsus using the wsusutil.exe tool

 C:\Windows\system32>"C:\Program Files\Update Services\Tools\wsusutil.exe" postinstall /servicing

remove potential SPAM IP from O365 block list

I was running into an issue, while deliver status mails from my virtual webhost (sendmail on debian) to O365. Mails were not delivery correctly and finally the IP was blocked, cause the IP address was marked as SPAM sender in O365.

I tested with sendmail

echo "Subject: sendmail test" | sendmail -v <recipient>@minyx.de

And the following was showing up...

Assign Skype for Business Plan 2 to O365 Business Premium users

If you want to extend your Skype for Business functions by assigning a Skype for Business Plan 2 service plan, you might can run into an issue.

Cause O365 Business Premium has already a Skype for Business Plan included, which don’t let you assign a Skype for Business Plan 2 in the O365 Admin Center via GUI.

But you can assign the  Skype for Business Plan 2 service plan by Powershell.

First check you existing service status…

AAD connect behind a proxy

If you are using an outbound proxy for connecting to the Internet, the following setting in the C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\Config\machine.config file must be added for the installation wizard and Azure AD Connect sync to be able to connect to the Internet and Azure AD. This text must be entered at the bottom of the file but before the closing configuration tag. In this code, represents the actual proxy IP address or host name and PROXYPORT represents the port the proxy server is listening.
